The Macdonald-Laurier Institute’s recently-released paper detailing the problems with the federal government’s defence procurement caught the attention of newspapers and radio stations across the country.

The paper, titled “Putting the ‘Armed’ Back Into Canadian Armed Forces” and jointly released with the Conference of Defence Associations Institute, was the subject of a story by wire service The Canadian Press.

The story ended up appearing in dozens of newspapers across the country, including such national outlets as the Globe and Mail and the Toronto Star as well as regional outlets such as the Winnipeg Free Press and the Halifax Chronicle-Herald.

The paper, written by the CDAI’s David Perry, was also the subject of a column by John Ivison in the National Post. The column delves into some of the problems delays in purchasing for defence are creating for the government by eroding purchasing power.

Perry also spoke with several radio shows, including CJOB in Winnipeg and 1310 News in Ottawa.
