Regina Leader-Post covers MLI report on biofuels

The Regina Leader-Post has reported the major findings of a recently-released MLI paper on the failure of Canadian governments’ biofuels programs.

The paper, titled “Money to Burn: Assessing the costs and benefits of Canada’s strategy for vehicle biofuels”, shows that biofuels policies have cost between $3.00 and $3.50 for every dollar returned to Canadians in benefits.

It recommends phasing out funding for biofuels programs and, since the technology doesn’t appear to be improving, looking closer at limiting research funds for products such as ethanol.
